Cookie Policy

Cookies are small text files a website places on your device so it can recognise you across pages and visits. They are used by virtually every modern website — including SkillSwap — to keep you signed in, remember your preferences, and measure how the product is used.

Essential

Authentication session cookies set by Supabase. These keep you signed in and secure. Blocking them means you cannot log in.

Functional

Small preferences we remember between visits — for example, the state of the collapsible sidebar and other UI toggles. These do not identify you personally.

Analytics

Aggregated usage patterns — which pages users visit, which features are used most, error rates. Anonymous and never used for advertising. If we ever add third-party analytics (Google Analytics or similar), we will list them here before turning them on.

• Paystack: sets short-lived cookies while processing a coin purchase to secure the payment session.
• Google: if you sign in with Google, Google sets its own authentication cookies subject to Google's privacy policy.

• You can block or delete cookies via your browser settings. Each browser stores instructions under its Privacy or Security settings section.
• Note that disabling essential cookies will break login. You will not be able to use SkillSwap while they are blocked.
• Disabling functional and analytics cookies is safe — the platform continues to work; we just lose the aggregate signal that helps us improve it.
